It’s January 2016, i’m 21 and this is why i and you should write a dear future me letter. I have my whole life in front of me. Right now i have no idea what i want to do with my life. I don’t even really know what direction i want to go into. I’m studying international business administration at Erasmus, so i’m getting the idea of what business is really like, and the behind the scenes. But with business there is so many directions to go into. I love my blog but it takes time to create career from a blog and everything else that comes into. And it’s always nice to have a back up plan when your dream isn’t there just yet. You should always go for the dream but putting all my eggs in one basket is kind of scary. And i should find a direction. Also, i should get work experience, with an updated CV and i want a peak and a feel of the corporate world.
A Dear Future Me Letter would allow me or you for that matter, to write about your dreams and goals of what you want right now. In 5 to 10 years, you can open it and see if you have reached any goals or maybe went in a completely different direction. Maybe your hobbies has completely changed or your passion. But also it could be a reminder that, “hey, this is what i wanted to do. So why did i stop pursuing this path i wanted to go into?” That way you can re-evaluate your life and decide whether to start pursuing it again or to give you a bit more perspective about your life.
